About Calvin Reed
Calvin Reed lives in a small home in Potter County, Pennsylvania, with his cat, Marlin. He has spent most of his life figuring things out the hard way so that other people do not have to.
The Life Skills Series began as a set of notes for a younger family member who was stepping out into the world for the first time. Those notes grew into this book, and this book grew into a series, because the gap between what school teaches and what adulthood demands is wider than anyone admits.
Calvin is not a professional organizer, a certified cleaning specialist, or a licensed contractor. He is someone who learned by doing, made the mistakes, paid for them, and wrote down what actually works so you can skip the expensive part.
When he is not writing or fixing something around the house, he can usually be found with a cup of coffee, a half-finished project, and a cat who refuses to move off whatever he is working on.
The Philosophy
Systems should work for humans, not the other way around.
That is the whole idea. Not complicated. Not revolutionary. Just true. Most systems, tools, and advice you encounter are built for a brain that does not exist. They assume infinite willpower, perfect executive function, and a life with no friction. Calvin builds systems for real brains doing real life. Try one small thing. See if it works. Adjust. Try again.
